Oct 30th's Freak Accident pt2

So Friday afternoon, I was finally taken into surgery only to wake up in the recovery room finding out that 4-5 inch incision was made at my hip and a metal rod was hammered into the middle of femur bone to connect the 2 broken pieces and then 2 screws were put it to make sure I had stability. With surgery my thigh was so swollen that I couldnt even see my knee.

Here are some pictures.....

Oct 30th's Freak Accident

So being in the Championship of my basketball class' mini tournament we were playing on the collegiate court&my team, Team Wonderbread were prolly the most overlooked team because we lacked height. Anyways the game was over from the beginning as me &my team came out wettt &on point moving the ball, pressing, picking up steal after steal, draining 3's, im sure yall get me.

Well with about 3-4mins left in the game the game was well outta reach as we were up by about 15pts the ball found its way to me &i happened to have a wide open layup, or so it seemed. Taking off for a layup someone jumped on my back &with all tht pressure i take a major fall &he ends up falling on top of me and SNAP, CRACKLE, POP!!! my femur is broken.

Ambulances came, injected me with morphine, let it sink in then put a traction on my foot and began pulling to straighten my leg out then POP! goes my leg so they inject me with more morphine, try straightening my leg out again and POP! goes my leg AGAIN! They carry me off on the gerny to St. Judes in Fullerton to get treated and x-rayed then transported to Kaiser in Baldwin Park later on in the day.

10/24 - 10/26 Recap

Friday:
Didnt expect to go out, but i got a sick last minute call &ended up at a homegirls place meeting up with everyone then headed out to some Cal Poly Halloween Frat Party. Shit looked dope, but overall it wasnt that great. The only positive was that there were alot of cute girls, but there were also alot of guys, dj sucked, &not that much to drink. Whatever made myself a costume in 3mins lol

Saturday:
Straight up kicked it with the fam all day

Sunday:
NJB Ref clinic was BLAH!!!!

Gametime in El Monte was 4:30pm. Lets just say I was wettt from the get go &finished with at least 15points in the first half, too bad I had to leave 5mins into the second half. From what I heard we ended up losing by 6, but could have totally been a different game if I was there, no joke.

Leaving that game, I scooped up Andy &my boy Kaymon and headed to Anaheim Sports Center to go hoop with my team B.O.B. (#3) &for some reason we happen to be playing the #1 rank team in our division on Week 3. Whatever though we played a competitive game &walked out with a W, compared to last season which was a totally different story =X

my car almost got towed and some rent a cops were tryna give me some trouble for it
but dammm talk about karma huh vanessuhhh? ha!

then the fantasy draft came around &i smashed on that too!
CP3, Nash, Odom, Maggette, Bosh, Yao, Tyson, Billups, Ray Allen, Prince.....
i cant wait to collect =]

Danielle's Party

Things didnt get started til about 9:30pm because thats when the music started playing and when the drinks and noz started to sell. Small groups would roll through at random times and working the front door I saw that things were running smoothly. At the point when the party was crackin (around 11:30pm), out of NOWHERE there were about 35 people at the door trying to get in and being in charge at the front I had to slow things down and collect the entrance fees, with the help of some homies of course.

After handling that situation within about 15mins the cops showed up and I made sure everyone outside with me got in and I closed the door on them. Muahahaha! After getting through some other difficult obstacles trying to get all the random people to leave, the party turned into a huge kickback with drinks and noz still being sold.

From my lookout i seemed to be a pretty good turnout. People enjoyed themselves, no youngin's, stacked that cheese, chillin, the whole nine yards.....

[Thanks Nicole for some pictures]

Sights, Sounds and SHAQ

So lets get straight to the point, other than watching the Bucs practice i came within about an arms distance of Shaquille O'Neal the former Laker and Heat Center who is now with the Phoenix Suns. Shaq was at the 14U D1 Championship Game just watching some up and coming kids do their thing. Of Course he was surrounded by little kids the whole time he was there, but what did he expect?

Other than seeing Shaq and watching 14 year old kids dunking I was able to get around Orlando and do a little sight seeing myself.

Tampa Bay Bucs Training Camp [Florida]

Being in Orlando on almost a daily basis because of my brothers tournament at the Walt Disney Sports Center I noticed that the Disney Center also had a football field which was being used by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. So I decided why not wake up early one morning and check out their squad....

Its Not Over Yet

So I finally arrived at the Indianapolis Airport (finally!) at about 9:15am ET, we obviously knew me missed our connecting flight due to the fist delay, so my dad was forced to find a flight for at least my brother and Josiah because they had to be in Orlando in time to register for Nationals otherwise they wouldn’t be able to play. With a lot of luck, they got a flight to Orlando at 10:56am while me and my dad spent our time in the airport waiting for our 5:00pm flight.

And lets just say during that long ass wait at the airport I’ve never taken so many naps and eaten so much subway in my life!

Finally arriving in Orlando, things started to run pretty smoothly as we got our rent-a-car pretty quick and were able to pick up my brother and finally relax at our hotel; well except for the fact that the people out here are asses because they make it so difficult for you to change lanes.

Goodnight

Not Bad, Not Bad at All

Being a week full of errands, I decided to go out and enjoy a nice saturday night. It was myself, Matt and Jake rolling to this graduation party in Pico which was not poppin at all when we got there so we decided to leave and hit up this party on Cameron in wesco. Upon arriving at the door we were appauled that guys were being charged 4bucks.

Volunteering to scope things out, I saw that this party had MAJOR potential for sure! The alcohol wasnt in major supply, but there was a free keg with beers being sold. The dance floor was indoors but eventually as people started rolling through it extended to outside. But eventually the wrong types of people were rolling through and a fight almost started in front of me, but nothing happened and we decided to take that as a sign that we should leave soon.

Matt finding a valuable possession didnt want to be seen, so decided to hop the fence as Jake and I walked out the front door where people were still walking in even at 1245am which showed how good this party was and from there we called it a night.

[once again I messed up and didnt take any flics to post up =[ sorry everyone]

Club Beat It

Being that it was Memorial Day weekend what better way to have a good time than hit up a club in Hollywood with some friends. Tired of being the designated driver it was my time to have some fun if you know what I mean. So I decided to hit up my homegirl Vanessa to see if she would want to drive me and 2 of my homies Jonas and Matt. We were rollin so deep that our friend Ronolyn had to take a seat on the floor on the way over there and Candice on the way back.

Getting in the club, shit was NOT cracking at all, but after we found the Hip Hop room and more people started showing up it started to get going. Overall it was a cool night except for the fact that the DJ did not know how to transition between songs at all!

Not a bad night at all, well at least I had a good time and I hope everyone I was there with had a good time too

DBar Held it Down

So just kicking it at home, I got the most randomest call ever! It was my old homie from 8th grade George Labaki and apparently he was down from the Navy with some of his boys and told me to kick it with them. Later on that night we hear that one of his friends is throwing a party and we all decided to roll down to show his crewmates a good time.

We get to the house around 830 and start setting up and all and i see that they got 3kegs running for free with nos and liquour being sold. I dont know how and why but I found myself working the door and at first it started out real slow, but eventually everyone started showing up and shit got busy quick! If the backyard was bigger the party probably wouldve been off the chain, but it was what it was and it was packed to FULL capacity with girls everywhere.

A big positive of the night was when I noticed that it was almost 12 and no cops had strolled by and when the neighbors asked what was happening we just said it was a graduation party and they all respected that. So now its about 1245 and people are slowly leaving, but the party is still cracking, but I decided to head out around 145 and call it a night with some of my friends.

Big ups to everyone I havent seen in forever. GeorgeRickJonasBubbaMattNessaTazCandice

Talk about Generosity

So I thought that this was pretty cool. We all already know that Kobe Bryant won the MVP of the season, but Im not sure how many of you caught his press conference or saw any highlights of it.

As we all know Kobe kept saying that this award was not a individual award, but a "team" award instead and thanks all of his teammates for all their contributions. At the press conference all of Kobe's teammates were present and Luke Walton asked a question referring to how Kobe said that it was a team award and whether or not he was going to get his teammates gifts jokingly, with Bryant responding with a laugh and a yes.

Well, what Im getting at is that last night the Laker players all joined together at a restaurant to (once again) watch a game that would determine their opponent in the Western Conference Finals and at this gathering Kobe was reported to have given each of his teammates a personally engraved Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Compressor Chronograph watch from Switzerland; which retails at $9,000 apiece.

Here are some pictures from that night...

Now talk about being generous, but I guess thats what happens when your Kobe Bryant and youve just won the MVP award.

"How'd they do that?"

Game 2: Lakers vs Jazz

[from my point of view]

Just being in LA anyone could see that thepurple and gold was in full affect from the streets to the arena. Myself and Earl, not having our tickets yet we decide to just kick it around the main entrance, where we first see A.C. Green talking to some fellow fans. As time passes by we find ourselves chilling in front of Will Call where I immediately notice Jarron Collins twin brother Jason Collins who literally passed right in front of me, but I was just to star struck to say anything. Later, I even witnesses Ron Artest walking hella fast from a crowd of lakers video taping him, I must say it was really funny.

As we got in we had some pretty good seats and we were some big ass laker goof ball fans talking trash to the 2 Utah fans in front of us. At halftime we got 2 "Family Room" passes which brought me and Earl to a room with some of NBA players families and popular faces. In this room not only was there some bomb, free food, but I immediately noticed Andre Igoudala from the Philadelphia 76ers who is also a slam dunk superstar and I even struck up a nice little conversation with him too. In the room we were also surrounded by Jim Hill and James Worthy from the LTV show and Kobe Bryants wife and kids just to name a few; on your way back to our seats we were even standing right next to Chick Hearns wife, Marge Hearn. With a couple seconds left me and Earl decided to head back down to the floor to get some close ups with some Lakers and we came pretty close to Pau Gasol and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar who were heading back to the locker room and were even next to Kobe and Rick Fox showing some love between each other.

Heres a video montage that Earl put together himself:

Oh What?!

Lets see,
We started the night at my pad, just kickin it watching the Lakers handle the Hornets till about the end of the 3rd quarter when we decided to head out to a friends party in wesco about 5mins away. It looked like it was gonna be crackin, but we didnt even get in cuz cops showed up and the parents didnt let anyone else in and then it ended up being shut down cuz the front of the house was just overwhelmed by so many people.

We then decided to roll to another party but once we found out it was in LP (la puente) we scratched that out just cuz of ALL the bad things we've experienced in that area and instead headed to a "heights" party which was mos defintely NOT crackin what-so-ever and when we finally did decide to leave the cops made me and my homies sit on the curb for about half an hour. Who knew it would take 8police officers that long to just ask us if there were any fights inside, talk about lame asses. And Im pretty sure the cops thought we were under the influence of something, but really, we all just thought it was funny how they kept us there for absolutely nothing.

BiG ups too....jonas, bubba, earl, taz, matt, drew, jake, jonfranco, ali, ali's sister

I guess to say the least it was an eventful night.

Real or Fake?
either way KOBE for MVP!

Kobe Bryant jumps over car

Oh and since Earl and the good life rolled through i decided to leave all the media up to him, so hit his blogspot up to see if I left anything out or just for a different perspective of the night.

Working at Staples Center?

So for those of you who didn't know I was graced with the oppurtunity to earn a little cash money by reffing a elementary school game that was gonna be played at the STAPLES CENTER, then kick back and watch the game for free! The game went by easy except for the fact that there were so many air balls becuase kids were tryna shoot it from downtown! So, anyways after the game, me and my ref partner Andrew Vasquez decided to kick it till we got kicked out, but we only ended up meeting the 2 Clipper announcers, Ralph Lawler and Mike Smith to whom I introduced myself too...Once we got kicked out becuase the players had to warm up we decided to go to our seats wayyy upp in the nosebleeds and ended up leaving at the start of the 4th quarter becuase the Nuggets were tearing it up.

Nothing really went down, but I decided to update this NEW blog because I cant sleep and who else can say that they reffed at the STAPLES CENTER even if it was for a little kids game hahaha. Although I did take a couple videos of the player introductions and some of the game from where I was at, there weren't any highlights or anything special. I guess the only thing I got out of the game was taking a picture with some white girl on the dance squad.

[fyi: the video didnt upload onto the blog website so i had to do it through youtube]

And incase you didn't know, do not I repeat DO NOT buy food from the STAPLES CENTER because its hella expensive! [3.75 for a water, 5.00 for a large soda. 6.50 for nachos, 5.00 for a pretzel, etc.]

Well Im out like the Clippers from the playoffs
